I started thinking about making some insectoid MOCs. I was specifically thinking along the lines of bipedal but showing characteristics of a certain insect. I'm a huge Transformers fan so I soon went in the direction of the G1 Insecticons. I decided that they would be a combination of their robot modes and their bug modes.

Here in Shrapnel's case I departed a lot from the Stag Beetle that he is supposed to be. I did that so that he didn't end up looking too much like Bombshell. However there are still some elements of Beetles in his design such as his fairly solid carapace and his head pinchers.

Also, I finally used that tiny XT-4 torso that everyone's raving about XD

That was for a contest where I had to make a transforming MOC, but it took a lot of time and I think the proportions are weird on Starscream
